Ich hatte Anfang Februar in Walldorf eine interessante Diskussion \u00fcber die anstehende Veranstaltungsreihe Sapphire in Orlando (USA), Barcelona (Spanien) und S\u00e3o Paulo (Brasilien). Wenig \u00fcberraschend argumentierte mein SAP-Gespr\u00e4chspartner, dass es lediglich notwendig sei, einen Ort zu besuchen, weil SAP \u00fcberall dasselbe Programm auff\u00fchrt. Besser k\u00f6nnte man die ichbezogene Haltung der SAP nicht zum Ausdruck bringen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn es lediglich um SAP ginge, dann k\u00f6nnte auch argumentiert werden, dass ein Besuch der Sapphire ohnehin nur eine Verschwendung von Ressourcen darstellt. SAP besitzt hervorragende Webseiten, eine umfassende Wissensdatenbank im Internet und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Hasso-Plattner-Institut in Potsdam hervorragende Online-Lernkurse. Alles, was ein SAP-Bestandskunde \u00fcber SAP wissen muss, wird ihm kostenfrei per Browser ins Haus geliefert. Wozu also ein Flugzeug besteigen und ein Hotelzimmer buchen?<\/p>

Diese geozentrische Sichtweise der SAP auf die Community erkl\u00e4rt sowohl das Vorhaben, jede Sapphire als Kopie auf verschiedenen Kontinenten zur Auff\u00fchrung zu bringen, als auch die Empfehlung daraus, letztendlich nur einen dieser drei Orte besuchen zu m\u00fcssen. \u00dcberraschend ist lediglich, warum nicht gleich Walldorf als Mittelpunkt der ERP-Welt ausgerufen wird, um den sich alles dreht, und Aristoteles der Schutzheilige der Walldorfer oder, ein wenig respektlos, der SAPler wird \u2013 eine Sapphire bei SAP in Walldorf!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir wissen es besser: Aus Sicht der SAP-Community leben wir in einer heliozentrischen IT-Welt. Das Zentrum sind Bits und Bytes und Gesch\u00e4ftsprozesse und eben nicht ein IT-Anbieter. Dieser ist sogar mitunter auswechselbar. Es erscheint somit entlarvend, wenn SAP sich selbst als Mittelpunkt mit Themenf\u00fchrerschaft bei einer sogenannten Kundenveranstaltung sieht \u2013 und nicht den Kunden den Vortritt l\u00e4sst.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aus Kunden- und Community-Sicht sollte es sich bei den drei Sapphire-Standorten Orlando, Barcelona und S\u00e3o Paulo um ganz unterschiedliche Veranstaltungen handeln. SAP sollte vielmehr eine Rundreise mit rabattierten Eintrittspreisen anbieten! In Orlando werden die nordamerikanischen SAP-Partner gemeinsam mit der ASUG (America SAP User Group) den Ton angeben. In Barcelona wird der Besucher auf die gro\u00dfen europ\u00e4ischen SAP-Partner gemeinsam mit der Deutschsprachigen SAP-Anwendergruppe (DSAG) treffen. Und in S\u00e3o Paulo wird die lateinamerikanische SAP-Community zusammenkommen und wahrscheinlich ganz andere Herausforderungen diskutieren als in Orlando und Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auch wenn SAP selbst \u00fcberall auf der Welt ein \u00e4hnliches Angebot hat und dieselben Shows veranstaltet, unterscheiden sich die M\u00e4rkte und die Szene der SAP-Community sehr deutlich. In Orlando und S\u00e3o Paulo wird wahrscheinlich viel mehr das Thema Cloud Computing diskutiert als in Europa auf der Sapphire in Barcelona. In Lateinamerika beobachten wir vielfach einen Neuanfang, w\u00e4hrend in Europa der Releasewechsel und hybride Systeme zur Diskussion stehen. SAP sollte eine Sapphire nicht als geozentrisches, sondern als heliozentrisches Weltbild betrachten und der SAP-Community den Vortritt lassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
