Nach Meinung von SAP-Chef Christian Klein m\u00fcssen alle Bestandskunden in die Cloud und dort das Betriebsmodell Cloud only verwenden. Eine interessante Vision, leider ohne Fundament. Die wirkliche Welt ist hybrid!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In der Vorstellung von Christian Klein k\u00f6nnte und soll die gesamte SAP-Community in der Wolke wohnen. Die ganze Community? Nein, kaum m\u00f6glich. Es gibt Gebiete, die noch nicht f\u00fcr das Cloud Computing erschlossen sind und in denen die Bewohner naturgem\u00e4\u00df ein SAP-On-prem-System betreiben. Hier stellt sich die Frage nicht, ob eine Transformation Vor- oder Nachteile bringt. Einfach aus der Tatsache, dass es technisch nicht m\u00f6glich ist.<\/p>

Ein Gebiet im SAP-Herrschaftsbereich nennt sich BRIM und hat sich aktuell noch jeder Cloud-Strategie widersetzt. BRIM, Billing and Revenue Innovation Management, ist ein komplexes Abrechnungssystem f\u00fcr unterschiedliche Dienstleistungen und Zahlungsverfahren. Ein erfolgreicher BRIM-Bestandskunde ist die Schweizerische Post. Eine Diskussion \u00fcber Cloud er\u00fcbrigt sich, weil BRIM nur als On-prem-Installation verf\u00fcgbar ist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So weit, so gut? Leider nein! Im Sommer dieses Jahres hat Christian Klein vor Finanz-analysten angek\u00fcndigt, dass KI- und \u00e4hnliche Innovationen nur SAP-Cloud-Kunden zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen werden. Chatbots, Assistenten wie Joule, Copilots f\u00fcr Java und Javascript, Green Ledger und noch Kommendes werden klassischen On-prem-Bestandskunden verwehrt bleiben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Finanzanalysten waren von dieser Cloud-only-Strategie angetan und in diesem Herbst erreichte der SAP-Aktienkurs einen neuen H\u00f6chststand. Christian Klein hat wieder einmal alles richtig gemacht und die On-prem-Bestandskunden haben das Nachsehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Widerspenstig oder logisch konsequent? Die SAP-On-prem-Gemeinde ist weder boshaft noch widerspenstig, sondern denkt konsequent rational. Wie sollen die SAP-Anwender in die Cloud wechseln, wenn erst acht Jahre nach der Pr\u00e4sentation von S\/4 die Cloud-Version \u00fcber denselben Funktionsumfang wie das On-prem-Angebot verf\u00fcgt? Wie kann sich ein SAP-Bestandskunde in die Cloud wagen, wenn es keine Exit-Strategie gibt? Was soll ein Anwender machen, wenn seine SAP-L\u00f6sungen nur als On-prem-L\u00f6sung vorliegen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAP S\/4 war von Beginn an ein On-prem-System, siehe Pr\u00e4sentation von Professor Hasso Plattner und SAP-Ex-CEO Bill McDermott in New York 2015. Viel sp\u00e4ter wurde aus S\/4 mit Lift and Shift ein hinreichend brauchbares Cloud-Angebot. Es wird noch viele Jahre dauern, bis auch das letzte On-prem-Gebiet erobert sein wird, denn Cloud only ist eine Vision. <\/p>\n\n\n
