Man kann es nicht oft genug sagen: Transformationsprozesse und ein Paradigmenwechsel in der IT sind betriebswirtschaftliche und organisatorische Praxis.<\/p>\n

Ein wenig scheint davon auch SAP mitbekommen zu haben. Seit ein paar Monaten gibt es bei den Walldorfern einen CDO, Chief Digital Officer. Dieser bem\u00fcht sich jedoch nicht um eine Digital Transformation von Use und Business Cases, sondern meint, mit Cloud Computing bereits alle Probleme gel\u00f6st zu haben.<\/p>

Was f\u00fcr ein Irrtum! Run simple, lieber CDO!<\/p>\n

Wieder einmal produziert man bei SAP ganz hervorragende Software und hat gleichzeitig keine Ahnung vom Markt. Die Ingenieurskunst und das IT-Wissen sind vorhanden. Aber das billige Gerede \u00fcber vermeintliche IT-Trends ist peinlich und verr\u00e4terisch: SAP hat keine Ahnung!<\/p>\n

Wie hei\u00dft es bei SAP-Chef Bill McDermott? \u201eRun Simple.\u201c Ja, lieber Bill, aber so \u201esimple\u201c sind die Aufbau- und Ablauforganisationen deiner Bestandskunden nicht. Use und Business Cases mit und ohne Hana sollen intuitiv zu bedienen sein. Die Algorithmen selbst werden aber niemals \u201esimple\u201c sein. Richtig m\u00fcsste es hei\u00dfen: Digital Simplicity.<\/p>\n

Industrie 4.0? Die Analysten von Gartner betonten auf der CIO-Konferenz Mitte Mai in M\u00fcnchen folgerichtig: Es wird auch eine Industrie 5.0 geben! Man sollte sich also davor in Acht nehmen, kurzfristigen und lauten Schlagworten hinterherzulaufen.<\/p>\n

Was heute noch \u00fcberzeugend und aufregend klingt, kann morgen schon eine Sackgasse sein. Aber warten ist keine Option, sagten die Gartner-Analysten auch \u2013 und wir brauchen eine Fehlerkultur, also das Hineinlaufen in die Sackgasse muss akzeptiert werden.<\/p>\n

SAP sollte von dem intensiven Gebrauch verg\u00e4nglicher Modew\u00f6rter Abstand nehmen und hinter die Kulissen und auf die Bestandskunden schauen. Dort findet eine Digital Transformation statt, die eine Digital Simplicity braucht.<\/p>\n

Wie vieles im Leben hat auch Digital Transformation zwei Seiten: eine revolution\u00e4re Auspr\u00e4gung, die getrieben wird durch die teils dramatischen Ver\u00e4nderungen in der IT; eine evolution\u00e4re Auspr\u00e4gung, die auf der Globalisierung von Gesch\u00e4ftsprozessen und Beziehungen beruht.<\/p>\n

Die Technik ist fast immer disruptiv und kommt in Wellen \u2013 Gartner sprach bereits vor zwei Jahren vom Digital Tsunami! Aufbau- und Ablauforganisationen bei SAP-Bestandskunden lassen sich mit ihren komplexen Prozessen und Beziehungen oft nur schrittweise und evolution\u00e4r \u00e4ndern \u2013 auch wenn Bill McDermott mantraartig \u201eRun Simple\u201c predigt.<\/p>\n

Digital Transformation ist ein Megatrend und Paradigmenwechsel. Digital Simplicity eine intellektuelle, organisatorische und komplexe Herausforderung. Mittels Digital Simplicity soll es gelingen, Gesch\u00e4ftsprozesse nach au\u00dfen zu konsolidieren und zu simplifizieren \u2013 nach innen werden die Prozesse aufgrund der technischen M\u00f6glichkeiten wahrscheinlich komplexer, siehe Hana und die ganze Funktionsvielfalt von PAL (SAP Hana Predictive Analysis Library), CDS (Core Data Services) und BFL (Business Function Library).<\/p>\n

Digital Simplicity kann also per Definition eben nicht \u201eRun Simple\u201c sein. Hier irrt McDermott! Simplicity \u2013 die Kunst, die Komplexit\u00e4t zu reduzieren \u2013 ist eine Wissenschaft, wie die Arbeiten von Professor Hasso Plattner am HPI in Potsdam zeigen. Hana und die umgebende IT-Architektur k\u00f6nnen als Prototyp f\u00fcr die Kunst, die Komplexit\u00e4t zu reduzieren, verstanden werden.<\/p>\n

Ebenso sind Hana und die dazugeh\u00f6rigen Produkte und Dienstleistungen ein wichtiges Fundament f\u00fcr die Digital Transformation. Buchautor Benedikt Weibel: Simplicity \u2013 die Kunst, die Komplexit\u00e4t zu reduzieren.<\/p>\n
