Auf den Punkt gebracht: Die \u201eInnovationen\u201c der SAP korrumpieren unsere Planung.<\/p>\n

\"Customer<\/a><\/p>\n

Vor etwa einem Jahr war der Ruf der SAP-Community nach einer Roadmap der SAP un\u00fcberh\u00f6rbar. Auch viele meiner Kollegen forderten verbindliche Entwicklungspl\u00e4ne.<\/p>\n

SAP tat, was der Konzern in einer solchen Situation immer macht: Er h\u00f6rte auf seine Bestandskunden und produzierte und ver\u00f6ffentlichte unz\u00e4hlige Roadmaps \u2013 Quantit\u00e4t erschl\u00e4gt Qualit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n

Seitdem herrscht Chaos. Es erscheint nahezu unm\u00f6glich, diese gef\u00fchlt Tausenden SAP-Dokumente zu konsolidieren. Und der Wert jedes einzelnen Dokuments ist \u00e4u\u00dferst begrenzt: Bereits Q2 und Q3 f\u00fcr 2017 ist laut SAP-Roadmaps ferne Zukunft. Wie soll ein CIO hier eine verbindliche IT-Planung 2020 beim Vorstand abliefern?<\/p>\n

Selbst ein regelm\u00e4\u00dfiger Besuch der Sapphires bringt keine Klarheit. Einmal soll alles Richtung Hana Enterprise Cloud (HEC) gehen, dann werden wieder die On-premise-Versionen bevorzugt ausgeliefert.<\/p>\n

\u201eCloud first\u201c hei\u00dft jedoch f\u00fcr SAP nicht, dass man hier einen Schwerpunkt setzt, sondern lediglich, dass die Wolke in Zukunft mehr Umsatz bringen muss.<\/p>\n

Somit existieren vollkommen unsynchronisiert HEC, HCP (Hana Cloud Platform) und CAL (Cloud Appliance Library).<\/p>\n

Bisher bin ich immer davon ausgegangen, dass SAP die Bestandskunden mit ihren Lizenzen in die eigene Cloud locken will \u2013 dann gibt es auch keine Schwierigkeiten mehr mit Net\u00adWeaver Foundation for Third Party (indirekte Nutzung). Aber jetzt wurde ganz gro\u00df und laut eine Hana-Partnerschaft mit Amazon Web Services (AWS) verk\u00fcndet!<\/p>\n

Und man gestattet AWS zu behaupten, dass der SAP-Bestandskunde hier das beste und leistungsf\u00e4higste Hana-Cloud-Angebot findet. Was wird nun aus HEC und HCP? Was will SAP?<\/p>\n

W\u00e4hrend der AWS-Pr\u00e4sentation wurde HCP mit keiner Silbe erw\u00e4hnt, daf\u00fcr kam das lange totgeschwiegene CAL wieder zu neuen Ehren. Offensichtlich findet sich das CAL-Framework neben Vora auf der AWS-Plattform.<\/p>\n

Soll nun wirklich Amazon die bessere Cloud f\u00fcr SAP-Bestandskunden sein? Wir haben strenge Regeln f\u00fcr die Cloud-Nutzung ausgearbeitet, dazu geh\u00f6rt auch AWS.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr den Einkauf und die globalen Projektverantwortlichen ist es zwar eine Herkulesaufgabe, Budgetpl\u00e4ne f\u00fcr die Cloud-Nutzung zu erstellen, aber der Amazon-Service ist valide und in vielen Nischen sehr hilfreich.<\/p>\n

Dennoch bleiben die meisten Projekte aufgrund der mannigfaltigen Services und weltweit unterschiedlichen Preise immer ein Sprung ins kalte Wasser.<\/p>\n

Mittlerweile gibt es spezialisierte Agenturen, die ausschlie\u00dflich Kalkulationsmodelle anbieten und betreiben, damit letztendlich eine fundierte Cloud-Budgetplanung entsteht. Unn\u00f6tig zu erw\u00e4hnen, dass in allen F\u00e4llen HEC und HCP am oberen Ende der TCO sind.<\/p>\n

SAP holt sich also mit AWS einen m\u00e4chtigen Mitbewerber ins Boot und unser SAP-Stammtisch fragt sich, was f\u00fcr eine Strategie die Walldorfer verfolgen.<\/p>\n

Da muss ich nicht zweimal \u00fcberlegen, dass ich im Zweifelsfall eher mit den eigenen Lizenzen zu AWS gehe, bevor ich alles \u2013 inklusive meiner On-pre\u00admise-Lizenzen \u2013 in die SAP Cloud bringe.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr uns ist ohnehin die Private Cloud auf Basis einer converged Infrastructure der einzig gangbare Weg. Unsere globale IT-Infrastruktur ist vor 18 Monaten mit dem vorerst letzten europ\u00e4ischen Rechenzentrum fertiggestellt worden.<\/p>\n

Dimension, Skalierbarkeit, Agilit\u00e4t und Energiebedarf passen, sodass unsere converged Infrastructure und Private Cloud einen sicheren Hafen hat \u2013 und die Analysten von Gartner haben uns schon vor drei Jahren dringendst empfohlen, niemals unsere On-pre\u00admise-Lizenz- und Servicevertr\u00e4ge zu k\u00fcndigen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
