Er\u00f6ffnet wurde SAP Select im noblen Ritz-Carlton, wo diesmal meine Frau und ich n\u00e4chtigten. Normalerweise bevorzugen wir das Hotel Orania, weil es eine Kooperation mit unserem absoluten Lieblings-\u00adHideaway Schloss Elmau in Bayern hat. Im gro\u00dfen Ballsaal des Ritz-Carlton dann die gro\u00dfe SAP-Show f\u00fcr handverlesenes Publikum:<\/p>\n

Die B\u00fchne betrat Frau Nicola Leske von der SAP-Unternehmenskommunikation und sie versuchte zu erkl\u00e4ren, dass es keine Keynote geben wird \u2013 was logisch klang nach dem Abgang von Bill \u201eSuperlativ\u201c McDermott. Nur was dann kam, war ein Fehlstart!<\/p>

Das \u201eneue\u201c SAP-Konzept sah vor, dass die Keynote durch eine Fragestunde ersetzt wird. Nachdem Frau Leske erkl\u00e4rte, dass es im Saal Mikrofone gibt, betrat Co-CEO Jennifer Morgan etwas unsicher die B\u00fchne, knapp hinter ihr folgte Co-CEO Christian Klein, wie ein junger Lehrling.<\/p>\n

Zu dritt setzte man sich dann auf tiefe, wei\u00dfe Fauteuils, was weder der Optik noch der Dynamik hilfreich war \u2013 wahrscheinlich sollte es ein Ausdruck der L\u00e4ssigkeit sein.<\/p>\n

Auch meine Frau war \u00fcberrascht von dieser Offenheit, als ich ihr sp\u00e4ter zum Abendessen bei Tim Rau davon erz\u00e4hlte.<\/p>\n

\u201eSAP meint es offensichtlich ernst mit dem Generationswechsel\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201eAber warum war deine DSAG nicht auf der B\u00fchne?\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n

Die Veranstaltung war \u00e4hnlich, wie Chefredakteur F\u00e4rbinger immer wieder lamentiert: Die Richtung stimmt, die Umsetzung ist zweifelhaft. Die seltsam planlose Langzeitstrategie bei SAP h\u00e4lt an!<\/p>\n

Die Deadline 2025 wird f\u00fcr ERP\/ECC 6.0 nicht halten. Wir gehen in die Verl\u00e4ngerung! Nat\u00fcrlich wurde diese \u201efrohe\u201c Botschaft in Berlin im noblen Ritz-Carlton nicht verk\u00fcndet.<\/p>\n

Den Paukenschlag will man sich f\u00fcr sp\u00e4ter aufheben: vielleicht zur Sapphire Anfang Mai in Orlando oder dann zum DSAG-Jahreskongress in Leipzig.<\/p>\n

Ein US-Kollege von mir kennt den Analysten und intimen SAP-Kenner Josh Greenbaum gut und hat erfahren, dass bei SAP engagiert \u00fcber das Ende von Suite on Hana inklusive NetWeaver diskutiert wird.<\/p>\n

Diese Diskussion ist nicht neu, weil es eine SAP-Service-Note gibt, die genau das zum Ausdruck bringt: Supportende f\u00fcr den Java-Stack mit 2024 und f\u00fcr den Abap-Stack mit 2025.<\/p>\n

Parallel dazu best\u00e4tigte mir IBM, dass alle Service- und Nutzungsvertr\u00e4ge bez\u00fcglich DB2 gek\u00fcndigt wurden \u2013 Gleiches gilt f\u00fcr Oracle und SQL-Server.<\/p>\n

Schon vor vielen Wochen wurde mir vom SAP-Vorstand \u00fcbermittelt, dass ein Ende von SoH noch lange nicht final ist und SAP mit unserem Anwenderverein DSAG hierzu noch in Diskussion steht, was unl\u00e4ngst auch DSAG-Vorstand Andreas Oczko best\u00e4tigte.<\/p>\n

Meinen DSAG-Kollegen Oczko verstand ich so, dass die Business Suite, SoH, einen Aufschub bekommt. \u00dcber das AnyDB-Ende will SAP nicht reden, was verst\u00e4ndlich w\u00e4re:<\/p>\n

Die Datenbankvertr\u00e4ge sind gek\u00fcndigt und eine Wiederaufnahme w\u00fcrden sich die drei Anbieter, IBM, Oracle und Microsoft, versilbern, wenn nicht vergolden lassen. Soweit ich Andreas Oczko richtig verstanden habe, will unsere DSAG aber auch \u00fcber AnyDB mit SAP verhandeln.<\/p>\n

Auf der SAP Select in Berlin war davon nat\u00fcrlich nicht die Rede. Dort feierten wir uns selbst und am Tag zuvor 20 Jahre HPI in Potsdam gemeinsam mit Professor Hasso Plattner.<\/p>\n

Die Eliminierung der \u201eDeadline 2025\u201c will unsere DSAG erst am Jahreskongress in Leipzig verlautbaren, als Mehrwert und \u201eGeschenk\u201c an die Community.<\/p>\n

Dieser Plan unseres Vorstands mag markentechnisch eine gute Idee sein und Co-CEO Christian Klein k\u00f6nnte gemeinsam mit Andreas Oczko die \u201efrohe\u201c Botschaft von der B\u00fchne verk\u00fcnden \u2013 aber fair ist es nicht!<\/p>\n

Die Kapitulation der \u201eDeadline 2025\u201c ist eine viel zu weitreichende und damit wichtige Entscheidung, sodass man diese \u201efrohe\u201c Botschaft auch nur einen Tag l\u00e4nger als notwendig zur\u00fcckhalten darf.<\/p>\n

Mein Vorschlag: Anfang kommenden Jahres auf dem Field-Kick-off-Meeting (Fkom) sollen Jennifer Morgan und Christian Klein die neuen Umst\u00e4nde dem eigenen Vertrieb darlegen und ein paar Wochen sp\u00e4ter auf einer internationalen Pressekonferenz die globale SAP-Community \u00fcber das Ende des 2025-Endes zeitnah informieren.<\/p>\n

Daf\u00fcr sollte SAP unsere DSAG mit Marco Lenck und Andreas Oczko einladen, die eigentlich schon auf der B\u00fchne der SAP Select in Berlin h\u00e4tten sein sollen, wenn Morgan und Klein eine echte Diskussion gew\u00fcnscht h\u00e4tten \u2013 so aber war es ein Fehlstart.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
