Infrastrukturen im Allgemeinen und Betriebssysteme im Besonderen haben beim Aufbau und der Nutzung von SAP-L\u00f6sungen seit jeher eine besondere Rolle gespielt. Und noch immer stellen sie ein zen\u00adtrales Element dar. Im Zusammenhang mit der Hana\u00adisierung hat SAP bekanntlich die Welt der Betriebs\u00adsysteme konsolidiert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Ma\u00df der Dinge hei\u00dft Linux. Vorgegeben f\u00fcr Hana und alle Hana-basierten SAP-\u00adL\u00f6sungen. Unabh\u00e4ngig davon, ob SAP-L\u00f6sungen in der Cloud oder on-premises betrieben werden oder im Rahmen von As-a-Service-Cloud-Solutions Verwendung finden.<\/p>

Dabei sitzt Suse als enger und langj\u00e4hriger SAP-Partner schon l\u00e4nger sozusagen in der ersten Reihe. Gesch\u00e4tzt 85 Prozent aller Hana- oder Hana-\u00adbasierten SAP-Anwendungsl\u00f6sungen bei Kunden setzen Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for SAP Applications ein. Und eine ebenfalls hohe Prozentzahl im NetWeaver-Umfeld (SAP-Klassik). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wobei sich SLES for SAP und natives Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) insbesondere dadurch unterscheiden, dass SLES for SAP wichtige und wertvolle Funktionen speziell f\u00fcr den SAP-Einsatz aufweist, die in Zusammenarbeit mit SAP entwickelt wurden. Seit 1999 \u2013 mit der Gr\u00fcndung des SAP Linux Lab \u2013 gibt es zwischen SAP und Suse ein enges Miteinander. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf der Basis dieser Partnerschaft gingen zahlreiche gemeinsame Entwicklungen (wie zum Beispiel Deployment Automation) hervor, um Open-Source-L\u00f6sungen f\u00fcr den Mission-critical-SAP-Einsatz zu etablieren. Was mit Bravour gelang. Etwa auch mit der Cluster-L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr Hana mit der Bezeichnung Suse High Availability Extension (HAE) oder der Systemmanagement-Software Suse Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nun gibt es einen weiteren wichtigen Meilenstein in der Zusammenarbeit, der eine Art Ritterschlag darstellt: Seit Kurzem ist n\u00e4mlich SLES for SAP mit dem weltweit g\u00fcltigen Premium-Zertifikat SAP Endorsed App versehen und ab sofort \u00fcber den digitalen Marktplatz via SAP Store verf\u00fcgbar. Endorsed Apps sind Premium-zertifiziert von SAP und sorgen f\u00fcr zus\u00e4tzliche Sicherheit durch tiefgehende Tests und Benchmark-Vergleiche mit anderen L\u00f6sungen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gleichzeitig stellt dieses Zertifikat eine Empfehlung mit Mehrwert f\u00fcr SAP-Kunden dar. Dies beinhaltet unter anderem, dass SLES for SAP und SAP-Solutions in idealer Art und Weise aufeinander abgestimmt sind, dass sie sich sicher, schnell und effizient nutzen lassen beziehungsweise Unternehmen Gesch\u00e4ftsmodelle und Gesch\u00e4ftsabl\u00e4ufe vorteilhaft optimieren k\u00f6nnen. Unabh\u00e4ngig von der Branchenzugeh\u00f6rigkeit und unabh\u00e4ngig davon, ob es sich um ein mittelst\u00e4ndisches oder um ein Gro\u00dfunternehmen handelt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Umfangreiche und tiefgehende Tests sowie Vergleiche mit anderen L\u00f6sungen zeichnen das Zertifizierungs-Level Endorsed App aus. Das Besondere dabei au\u00dferdem: Man kann sich f\u00fcr eine Endorsed App nicht bewerben, sondern SAP l\u00e4dt dazu ein. Eingef\u00fchrt und bekannt gegeben wurde dieses Premium-Zertifikat von SAP im vergangenen Jahr im Rahmen des abgehaltenen SAP Global Partner Summit Online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mit den Technologiel\u00f6sungen von Suse und SAP k\u00f6nnen Kunden ihre Gesch\u00e4ftsmodelle und -abl\u00e4ufe also optimieren. Ein weltweit agierendes Unternehmen der Bau-, Konstruktions- und Fertigungsbranche verwendet seine SAP-Anwendungen beispielsweise daf\u00fcr, seine 46.000 Mitarbeiter p\u00fcnktlich und korrekt zu bezahlen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durch die Implementierung der integrierten Hochverf\u00fcgbarkeitsl\u00f6sung in Suse Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications wurde eine Verf\u00fcgbarkeit von 99,995 Prozent f\u00fcr die Hana-Datenbanksysteme erreicht. In vier Jahren verzeichnete das Unternehmen nur zwei Stunden ungeplante Ausfallzeiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nat\u00fcrlich geht die gemeinsame Reise weiter. Zu nennen ist beispielsweise die enge Zusammenarbeit beim Thema Kubernetes-Container. Und zwar beim Projekt namens Gardener, das von SAP als Open-Source-\u00adProjekt forciert wird. Kernpunkt dabei ist die Verwaltung und Steuerung von Kubernetes-Services im Hyperscale-Umfeld. Spezialisten von Suse und SAP arbeiten hier intensiv zusammen, um etwa die Entwicklung von Deployment-Tools und die Backend-Integration f\u00fcr On-premises-Kunden zu unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
