Ich verrate, wie ich vor vielen Jahren w\u00e4hrend einer NetWeaver-Recherche unseren beliebten Autor n\/n kennenlernte, seit damals immer auf Seite 16<\/a>: Der damalige SAP-Technikvorstand Shai Agassi pr\u00e4sentierte in New York City das \u201eProgramm\u201c NetWeaver. Anfangs war vollkommen unklar, was SAP damit bezweckte. Agassi war \u00e4hnlich wie sein damaliger Ziehvater Hasso Plattner ein Vision\u00e4r. Die SAP-Bestandskunden k\u00e4mpften mit mySAP ERP 2004\/2005 ums \u00dcberleben und hatten nur wenig Zeit f\u00fcr vision\u00e4re und disruptive ERP-Ideen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weil zu Beginn NetWeaver als Software-Stack nicht viel hergab, packte SAP alle verf\u00fcgbaren Werkzeuge, Engines und Add-ons in das virtuelle Angebot. Jeder SAP-Bestandskunde, der aus dem SAP- Werkzeugkasten mehr als drei Positionen nutzte, wurde ohne sein Wissen zum NetWeaver-Kunden. Wer also dabei war, das SAP-Portal zu cutomizen, die Ex\u00adchange-Infrastruktur nutzte und einen Java-Stack im Einsatz hatte, war laut SAP-Definition ein NetWeaver-Kunde.<\/p>

So lernte ich n\/n kennen: Eine Anfrage in der SAP-Pressestelle nach Referenzen f\u00fcr NetWeaver verschaffte mir eine kleine Bestandskundenliste. Die meisten Anrufe in diesen IT-Abteilungen waren ern\u00fcchternd. Teile des SAP-Softwareangebots waren sehr wohl im Einsatz, aber kaum jemand kannte NetWeaver. Ein CIO nahm sich damals Zeit f\u00fcr mich und erkl\u00e4rte mir die SAP-Community aus Bestandskundensicht \u2013 daraus wurde die n\/n-Kolumne in jeder E-3 Ausgabe auf Seite 16<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rise with SAP ist ein D\u00e9j\u00e0-vu: Naturgem\u00e4\u00df hat Christian Klein mit Rise nichts Neues erfunden, sondern Vorhandenes, siehe Embrace, mit Zugekauftem, siehe Start-up Signavio, kombiniert. Naturgem\u00e4\u00df hat SAP die Mischung aus Alt und Neu vorab mit befreundeten Bestandskunden getestet. Naturgem\u00e4\u00df spricht offiziell bei SAP niemand mehr \u00fcber \u201erun simple\u201c, Embrace, Transformation oder Conversion, sondern es hei\u00dft ab sofort: Rise with one face to the customer! Somit ist Rise lediglich alte Software in neuer Verpackung und damit die Wiederholung des NetWeaver-Tricks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAP-Bestandskunden mit einem laufenden Conversion-Programm, die nun Signavio Process Mining hinzugebucht haben, sind automatisch Rise-Anwender geworden. Alle Anwender aus der Rise-Pilotphase werden ohnehin zum offiziellen Programm addiert. Damit konnte Christian Klein w\u00e4hrend des Bilanzgespr\u00e4chs zum ersten Quartal 2021 leichtgl\u00e4ubig behaupten, dass Rise jetzt schon ein \u00adGamechanger ist und mit mehr als 100 Vertragsabschl\u00fcssen im ersten Quartal bereits gro\u00dfe Erfolge erzielt worden sind. Und das soll erst der Anfang sein, glaubt Christian Klein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

W\u00e4hrend SAP-Bestandskunden und Partner mit Embrace und Conversion besch\u00e4ftigt sind, lobt Christian Klein sich selbst und glaubt, die Cloud-Integration abgeschlossen zu haben. Im Analystengespr\u00e4ch zu den Q1-Zahlem meinte er, dass SAP im Besitz eines konsolidierten Datenmodells und einer einheitlichen Plattform sei. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glaubt man dem Flurfunk in Walldorf, dann versuchen Christian Klein und CFO Luka Mucic jedes Euros habhaft zu werden, um diesen in die Reparatur das Cloud- und Integrationskonzepts zu investieren. Es wird bei SAP gespart, um Ressourcen f\u00fcr die Entwicklung und das Reparaturdienstverhalten zu bekommen. Aus dieser angespannten Arbeitsatmosph\u00e4re erkl\u00e4rt sich auch die Unsichtbarkeit der Vorst\u00e4nde Thomas Saueressig und J\u00fcrgen M\u00fcller \u2013 auch von Professor Hasso Plattner ist wenig zu h\u00f6ren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Kern von Rise sei immer die Business Technology Platform, erkl\u00e4rte Christian Klein. Die SAP-Bestandskunden sollen auf diese Plattform bauen. Dieser Plattformgedanke ist prinzipiell korrekt und liegt in der Tradition des SAP\u2019schen NetWeavers. Und Christian Klein will noch weiter gehen: Er plant den Aufbau eines B2B-Industrienetzwerks nach dem Vorbild der Automobilplattform Catena-X. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was Christian Klein jedoch \u00fcbersieht, ist der Umstand, dass Plattformen entweder aus kommerziellen Gr\u00fcnden oder aus einem Leidensdruck heraus entstehen. SAP will Industrieplattformen errichten, nicht weil man von industriellen B2B-Daten wie IIoT viel versteht, sondern weil man viel Geld verdienen will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn VW-Vorstandschef Herbert Diess anordnet, dass nach der Elektro\u00admobilit\u00e4t gleich die n\u00e4chste Revolution angesagt ist, geschieht das aus strategischen Gr\u00fcnden, um den eigenen Leidensdruck zu minimieren: Mit eigenen Chips will Diess das voll vernetzte und selbstlenkende Fahrzeug erschaffen. Diese Strategie soll den Konzern auf Augenh\u00f6he mit Tesla und Apple heben. Letztendlich will auch VW gutes Geld verdienen, aber offensichtlich auf Basis der eigenen Kernkompetenzen und zum eigenen Vorteil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das SAP\u2019sche Bestreben, industrielle Netzwerke und Plattformen f\u00fcr B2B-IIoT-Daten aufzubauen, ist \u00e4hnlich zu verorten, wie wenn Siemens versuchen w\u00fcrde, die beste FI\/CO-Software zu schreiben oder ein eigenes ERP-System zu programmieren. SAP hatte ihre Chance, mit IIoT und M2M eine Vormachtstellung einzunehmen, aber das Konzept \u201eLeonardo\u201c von Ex-Technikvorstand Bernd Leukert wurde entsorgt \u2013 eine zweite Chance wird es auch f\u00fcr Christian Klein nicht geben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
