At the latest with the acquisition of Ariba, the topics of purchasing, procurement and supply chain management have increasingly become the focus of the SAP manager. With the increasing automation of operational purchasing in the course of digitalization, strategic purchasing has gained in importance as a management discipline. SAP has recognized the need to offer a holistic solution for procurement. This is also demonstrated by the cooperation between Ariba and Mercateo concluded in June.
