NTT Data, in collaboration with the Spanish digitalization initiative Mobile World Capital Barcelona (MWCB), has published the report \"Low-Code Analysis: New paradigm in software development\". It highlights the benefits of low-code or no-code development platforms as a technology for accelerating digital transformation in companies. According to the study, they are an effective solution to the shortage of skilled workers and an accelerator of digitalization. Digitalization has become one of the most important levers for competitiveness in the context of the fourth industrial revolution. It is estimated that 500 million new apps will be needed worldwide in 2023. However, this is offset by a shortage of skilled workers. To meet the high demand, 350,000 information and communication technology (ICT) specialists are needed in Europe alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report highlights that, given these trends, 42% of companies are opting to use low-code platforms and train people without an ICT profile accordingly. The main low-code providers expect the growth rate of this technology to reach 100 percent over the next few years. In-depth interviews were conducted for the report with executives from 26 companies such as Bayer, DKV, Microsoft, Nestl\u00e9 and Seat. They describe how their companies view low- or no-code implementation and how they have promoted its development. As a further source, the most important low-code providers were recorded in order to obtain a more comprehensive perspective. This information is supplemented by analyses from various analyst sources and databases from public institutions.<\/p>
