Knowledge workers work hybrid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gartner analysts define that user-centric design can help mitigate the IT talent shortage. According to research and advisory firm Gartner's forecast, 39 percent of knowledge workers worldwide will be working hybrid by the end of 2023, up from 37 percent in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Hybrid is no longer just a bonus for employees, it's expected of them,\" said Ranjit Atwal, senior director analyst at Gartner. \"Many employees will return to the office part-time starting in 2022, but working hybrid will continue to play an important role in 2023 and beyond. To adapt, employers have appropriately adopted human-centric design, user-centric design, for hybrid employees, which includes flexibility, intentional collaboration and empathy-based management.\"<\/p>

Work-life balance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

IT employees, for example, are more inclined than employees in other roles to quit their jobs because they are seeking more flexibility, a better work-life balance and better career opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIOs can better attract and retain talent by aligning their employee value proposition, employer positioning closer to people. Gartner defines hybrid employees as employees who work in the office at least one day per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remote employees work from home all the time, while on-site employees work full-time in the office and are not at home at any time. The number of remote workers is expected to continue to decline year over year. Gartner estimates that by the end of 2023, only nine percent of all employees worldwide will work remotely.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
