The associated IT infrastructure must therefore be flexible and quickly adaptable to changes. To ensure that these structures are future-proof, the IT architecture and processes must be regularly reviewed. This showed that archiving needed to be realigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future ready thanks to modern archiving platform<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Looking back: In 2013, the Lufthansa Group was looking for an archiving platform that would store both SAP data and non-SAP documents in an uncomplicated and reliable way. This platform also needed to support the data ingest process - for example, the simple scanning of invoices and uncomplicated display of documents stored in an unchangeable repository.<\/p>

As part of the market analysis, tender, various tests and a PoC (proof of concept), tia, the intelligent archiving platform from kgs, was the winner. Compared to other providers, it had the best match between specifications and functional scope. The SAP certification, the range of functions and the ease of use of the platform were the decisive arguments in favor of the kgs solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the implementation, six SAP and two non-SAP systems were connected to the archiving solution. A total of 150 scan licenses were used for the connected kgs tia Document Router systems. In the years that followed, concrete considerations were made about moving the archive to the cloud. Alexander Frick, Director Operational Procurement, Lufthansa Group, accompanied the project: \"Our plan for the future in the archiving area was that kgs would provide the software, we would provide the cloud infrastructure and that a Lufthansa system partner would be responsible for support.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Change - the new continuum<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

By moving to the cloud, the Lufthansa Group wanted to position itself more flexibly and at a lower cost. This also applied to the archiving solution. Alexander Frick explains: \"It was important to us to agree a flexible pricing model with a price scale based on the amount of data to be archived - in other words, the larger the amount of data to be stored, the lower the price.\" As the archiving solution had proven itself over the past few years, both parties checked tia's cloud capability on MS Azure, which was given. The new contract included an attractive price scale with flexible purchase of storage capacities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

021 the time had come: thirteen terabytes of archive data, which corresponds to around 80 million documents, will move into the new data center in Amsterdam by Q3\/2024. For the migration to the cloud, the scalability of the technical solution and thus the flexibility in the license agreement between kgs and the Lufthansa Group is also an important part of the cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
