In a recent survey, 89 percent of customers surveyed by CA Automation said their workloads had increased over the past two years, with an average increase of 31.4 percent.<\/p>\n

Most of the participants were IT specialists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Seventy percent see the reason for the additional workload in the higher number of software applications that have to be supported.<\/p>

67.3 percent blame the increased complexity of the IT landscape for the extra work, which is also due to the greater number of platforms resulting from the use of cloud services. These factors are obviously pushing IT operations to their limits.<\/p>\n

In addition, there are higher requirements due to legal regulations and more reporting. This continues the trend from last year. In the last survey, the respondents had also indicated that the workload had increased by an average of 31 percent in the last 24 months.<\/p>\n

The bottom line is that the increase in IT work continues unabated. However, the problems have apparently shifted slightly. In addition, many IT departments are now apparently better able to cope with the increase in work by digitizing and automating IT processes for their part.<\/p>\n

They focus most strongly on IT operations tasks, followed by development and support. The reasons for the automation initiatives are the high automation potential, but also new security requirements and smart technologies.<\/p>\n

It remains exciting to see how this trend will develop in the coming years and to what extent artificial intelligence and machine learning can help to relieve the IT department even more.<\/p>\n
