From the Core to the Edge
Suse announces the release of NeuVector 5.0, the first edition of its container security platform since the open source NeuVector platform in January 2022. Timed to coincide with the latest update to Rancher, the container management platform, this announcement furthers the vision of providing a fully integrated cloud-native platform that allows users to build, deploy and easily secure their Kubernetes applications and accelerate their digital transformation.
NeuVector 5.0 is integrated with Rancher and works with other enterprise container management platforms such as Amazon EKS, Google GKE and Microsoft AKS. As part of the new release, Rancher users can access and be authenticated to manage NeuVector directly from the Rancher console. This gives customers the benefit of a full zero-trust stack with a seamless user experience that simplifies security management for large, globally distributed Kubernetes environments. The release of NeuVector enhances the ability of enterprises to create resilient container systems in real time. These capabilities include web application firewall detection, automated container protection, investigation and CVE vulnerability scanning, compliance controls and reporting.
The open, interoperable Kubernetes management platform Rancher is also expanding its offerings as part of the new features to meet the changing needs of today's development teams managing diverse workloads and environments from core to cloud to edge. Among the enhanced customer benefits of Rancher 2.6.5, for example, is expanded Windows support, including Server 2022. This release also includes a vSphere driver for deployment directly to virtualized environments.
