Market recovers
After a decline in 2020 due to Covid-19, the consulting market has recovered. The 20 largest management consultancies headquartered in Germany achieved average revenue growth of 16.6% in the 2021 financial year. In the 2020 financial year, total revenue fell by an average of 6.8% - after more than ten consecutive years of growth. The leading international consulting groups grew by an average of 13.1% in the 2021 financial year (previous year 2020: 1.6%).
Current challenges such as the war in Ukraine, rising energy and manufacturing costs and the associated inflation are hardly affecting the revenue forecasts of the leading management consultancies: the German top 20 are planning growth of 15.4 percent in the 2022 financial year, while international consultants are planning 11.5 percent. These are the findings of the new Lünendonk study.
