Supply chain planning: less excess stock, more resilience
The Material Allocation App from Celonis helps to optimize the supply chain. The new app enables companies to optimize their inventories in order to reduce excess stock and avoid bottlenecks. It now complements the Celonis Inventory Management Apps. Due to the complexity of supply chains and the different expectations of the stakeholders involved, it is becoming increasingly difficult to meet the various requirements of supply chains.
Rapid changes in consumer behavior and customer expectations have a strong influence on maintaining service levels. Unpredictable fluctuations in supply and demand put a strain on working capital and make inventory management more difficult. Inflation, rising raw material costs and scarce resources also make cost control more difficult. To successfully meet these challenges, a new approach to supply chain and inventory management is required.
An approach that provides employees and teams with a dynamic overview of material flows and their interactions and supports them with intelligent recommendations based on current consumption and procurement data. Working with outdated planning parameters, organizational silos and inaccurate forecasts, further complicated by fluctuations in supply and demand, can lead to overstocking in some locations and low material availability in others. The Celonis Material Allocation App uses inventory, supply and demand data from across the organization to identify these surplus and shortage situations and suggest or initiate inventory reallocation.
