50% Share of women - SAP Supervisory Board newly elected

After the mandates of all shareholder representatives on the SAP Supervisory Board had regularly expired, the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held new elections. The terms of office were staggered in groups of three, four, and five years so that in the future not all shareholder representatives' terms of office would be up for re-election at the same time.
This is intended to give shareholders more decision-making opportunities and co-determination rights through more frequent voting, Hasso Plattner explained at SAP's Annual General Meeting. All persons standing for election received the approval of the shareholders. This means that the shareholders' side of the Supervisory Board consists of Hasso Plattner, Diane Greene and Gerhard Oswald, among others.
The issue of women in management positions is becoming increasingly important. The IT industry in particular is often male-dominated. The topic was also addressed and explored in depth at SAP's Annual General Meeting in May. The software company highlighted its efforts not only to meet the legally required quotas, but also to encourage women in the company to aspire to management positions.
This is particularly evident in the new elections to the SAP Supervisory Board. After five women were elected to the Supervisory Board on the employee side in the previously held employee representative elections, nine of the 18 Supervisory Board members are now women, making up 50 percent of the total.
