Cloud revenue increases by 33 percent


In the first quarter, cloud subscription and support revenue (non-IFRS) increased by 33% year-on-year to EUR 678 million. The growing cloud business and the growth in support revenue meant that the share of more predictable revenue in total revenue reached a record level.
Total revenue from cloud subscriptions and support as well as software support accounted for 69% of total revenue in the first quarter of 2016.
Cloud and software revenue (non-IFRS) rose by five percent to EUR 3.85 billion (2015: EUR 3.66 billion). Adjusted for currency effects, this represents an increase of six percent.
S/4
According to the Group, the strong demand for S/4 continued in the first quarter. SAP acquired over 500 S/4 customers in the first quarter, of which around 30 percent are new customers.
A growing driver of this global demand for S/4 is the Hana Enterprise Cloud (HEC). HEC offers secure and fast access to the latest innovations from SAP.
