Bullion breaks records
Atos has signed a contract with Siemens. The goal is to implement a cloud platform based on Hana. The platform is based on Bullion. Globally, the solution will support over 100,000 Siemens employees across the group.
Arnaud Bertrand, Group SVP, Head of Big Data and HPC at Atos, explained:
"The very fast processing of big data is one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. Atos offers innovative systems for this through the Bull brand - and the recognition by the benchmark acknowledges our strategic commitment.
Because Bullion is the most powerful server in the world and Bull's technological infrastructure know-how is once again brought to the fore. Bullion's performance and storage capacity are now the benchmark for servers. This reinforces our ambition to become the world's leading Big Data provider."
Bullion S, the latest server series with 288 cores in a 16 Intel Xeon processor E7 v3 and 4 TB of RAM, reaches performance peaks of 11,100 to 11,600 base, according to SPECint 2006 benchmarks.
With storage capacity of up to 24 terabytes (TB) for Big Data applications, in memory and in real time, such as with the Hana platform, the Bull server is an alternative to servers from HP, Cisco and IBM.
