The introduction of S/4 Hana brings with it many innovations in all areas of the system. This article deals with an often neglected but nevertheless important aspect: document archiving. Here, too, there is much that is new in addition to proven interfaces.

There are many reasons for archive migration: Mergers and realignment of companies or streamlining the IT landscape. Concentrating on necessary functions and replacing legacy solutions are among them. For SAP in particular, there are archive systems that provide only the functions necessary for SAP.

Many SAP user companies are currently following the trend of consolidating their IT landscapes with ERP as the central system. In doing so, they are also redesigning the archiving processes for SAP and non-SAP related documents. The following examples show the use of KGS solutions.

With the growing electronic document input, the tasks of scan/OCR solutions are changing. In input management, the volume of documents will increasingly shift from paper to digital media in the coming years. In the future, companies will completely replace their existing software and hardware equipment or will no longer use it in this form.

Complexity is a side effect of the digital transformation. SAP's existing customers are therefore encouraged to seize every opportunity to reduce the complexity of their IT. Consolidate, harmonize, automate - so that complexity is reduced and productivity is increased. Peter Färbinger, Editor-in-Chief of E-3 Magazine, spoke with the three KGS Managing Directors Winfried Althaus, Hermann Hülsmeier and Bernhard Morell.
Work on SAP Basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion. This gives the so-called Competence Center strategic importance among SAP's existing customers. Regardless of the operating model of an S/4 Hana, topics such as automation, monitoring, security, application lifecycle management, and data management are the basis for the operative S/4 operation. For the second time already, E3 Magazine is hosting a summit in Salzburg for the SAP community to get comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork. With an exhibition, expert presentations, and plenty to talk about, we again expect numerous existing customers, partners, and experts in Salzburg.
