Empirius: Insights into the new version of BlueSystemCopy
With version 9.2, the functionality has been expanded again, especially for Hana use, and additional features can be used.
For example, this can be used to implement an automatic recovery of the Hana database. To ensure that the export or import of the Hana database works, an authorization check is performed. Furthermore, the Hana license is imported automatically.
BlueSystemCopy has been usable for the creation of SAP system copies for the ERP ECC world (SAP Classic) as well as for Hana-based solutions for quite some time.
Configuration of BDLS runs
According to the company, the new version also offers enhancements in terms of BDLS. Accordingly, there is now automated support for the configuration of BDLS runs as well as checks in the run-up to BDLS runs to avoid error configurations.
In addition, BDLS statistics can be generated to identify "long runners". Based on the statistics, the BDLS can be optimized.
For SAP system copies with BlueSystemCopy in the SAP BW environment, the new version 9.2 provides features for automatically starting process chains. It also allows users to compare the functionality of source system connections before and after a system copy.
Integrated checkpoints
Other highlights of the automation solution for creating SAP system copies: the use of integrated checkpoints with work instructions to perform manual activities during a system copy, including confirmation and documentation of the activities.
Furthermore, automated volume creation/automatic volume splitting for NetApp filters across aggregate and filer boundaries. Or: an optimized integration into Flexframe from Fujitsu.
Empirius also offers system copies as a managed service using BlueSystemCopy. According to the company, the new version 9.2 will be available at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
