FUE Gospel

There is a cloud roadmap that makes SAP rich and reveals to existing customers their future cloud licenses and subscriptions. FUE, Full Use Equivalent, is a complex set of rules with precise instructions on how the sinful existing customer can leave the vale of tears on-prem to be accepted into the cloud.

The new gospel is difficult and complicated - it can also be very expensive in the cloud for SAP's existing customers, but in return they are given absolute absolution for their outrages in their own data center. With the FUE gospel, SAP redeems existing customers from the on-prem shackles and leads them into the ERP kingdom of heaven.

The company's own sovereignty is relinquished for the release change to the cloud. From SAP's point of view, the foreign data centers are the source of all disaster. The SAP clergy try to use on-prem as a stigmatization: There are the SAP believers and there are the on-prem apostates. The tasks of the new gospel are to create total dependency and exercise control. SAP's claim to omnipotence is based on the cancellation of on-prem licenses. FUE converts existing licenses into cloud subscriptions, thus SAP's existing customer loses all autonomy over their ERP.

The FUE gospel is a one-way street. When entering SAP's cloud kingdom, the existing customer hands over his on-prem licenses at the pearly gates. In return, he receives a cloud subscription that binds him to SAP forever. A return to earthly ERP life with its own decision-making authority is not provided for in the FUE gospel.

The lack of a cloud exit strategy makes the gospel burn. In the event of a company split, bankruptcy or other unforeseen events, the company's own ERP system remains hostage to SAP. Even downloading one's own data is not a solution because there are no on-prem licenses. Data without algorithms has no value!

The redemption promises of cloud computing can come true if the existing SAP customer keeps his on-prem licenses and thus retains his sovereignty over his own ERP. The antithesis to the FUE gospel is thus the path to the cloud while retaining on-prem licenses. This also succeeds in excommunication. Exclusion from the community of cloud creditors, i.e. the exit strategy sought, can only succeed if the on-prem licenses are still in the company safe. In this way, an SAP ERP system can still be operated after the disaster, possibly without a maintenance contract, but still operationally.

However, those who want to bring their on-prem licenses into the FUE gospel should make sure they have a well-ordered house beforehand. Consolidation in license types and verified license metering can save up to twenty percent in FUE fees. A clean and sinless entry into SAP's cloud kingdom is a prerequisite for avoiding a later financial cloud subscription collapse.
