HPI students win top prize with Smarter Waiting app
Carl Ambroselli (21), Markus Petrykowski (23) and Stephan Schultz (22) received the main prize at the three-day Berlin "Hack and Wear Hackathon" organized by Salesforce and Accenture.
"Many consumers hate sitting around for a long time until it's their turn for a haircut or a check-up at the doctor"
explains Ambroselli.
The "IntelliQ" app developed with his fellow Bachelor students (http://intelliq.me) is an intelligent system that allows customers to digitally log into the queue of a nearby provider of products or services.
As soon as it is clear when it will be their turn, the customer receives a message on their mobile device and can see how much time is left until then.
"In the meantime, the customer can go for a coffee or do something else"
says Ambroselli.
The HPI students are certain that companies and medical practices that use this intelligent queue management at reception will be more appreciated by consumers in the future. And customers will be able to choose the provider with the shortest waiting time.
