The two software companies have partnered to create an integrated IoT solution that supports the deployment and management of IT use cases across devices, infrastructure, edge, cloud and application domains.
The goal is to enable rapid deployment, scalability, and on-time execution of IoT projects. SAP provides a comprehensive real-time data view by bundling time-series device data with business transaction data.
VMware also enables IT to monitor and manage the IoT use case from an infrastructure operations perspective. With access to operational and business analytics, organizations can better leverage the information assets of their IoT infrastructure, as well as view and track the status of their IoT infrastructure.
VMware and SAP are working together to develop a pre-integrated and pre-tested solution that enables rapid deployments while providing the necessary security and management capabilities for the IoT architecture across gateways, micro data centers and cloud solutions, dramatically reducing time to value.
