Achim Berg is the new Bitkom President
Achim Berg is the new president of the digital association Bitkom.
He was elected unanimously at the annual meeting in Berlin in June. He succeeds Thorsten Dirks, who did not stand for re-election after moving from Telefónica Deutschland to the Lufthansa Board of Management as head of Eurowings.
Over the next two years, Berg will speak on behalf of Bitkom's more than 1,700 members and their two million employees in Germany.
Ulrich Dietz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GFT Technologies, and Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, were confirmed as Bitkom Vice Presidents.
Michael Kleinemeier, Member of the Executive Board of SAP, was newly elected Vice President. Catharina van Delden, Managing Director of Innosabi, moves up to the Executive Board as the new Treasurer.
Berg assumed responsibility on the Bitkom Executive Committee as early as 2007, and was Vice President of Bitkom from 2008 to 2010 and then again since 2013. Within Bitkom, he represents the mobility platform Flixbus as Chairman of the Advisory Board and the IT consultant Mabcon as Managing Partner.
Previously, Berg was Chairman of the Executive Board at Arvato and a member of the Executive Board at Bertelsmann, held management positions at Microsoft headquarters in Seattle and led Microsoft's business in Germany.
Berg, who holds a degree in computer science, also gained experience as a board member of Deutsche Telekom's fixed-network division and was head of Germany at Fujitsu.
SAP expert becomes Secude Managing Director EMEA
Secude, an IT security provider in the SAP environment, has appointed Andreas Opfer as managing director and head of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA).
At the same time, the company appoints Holger Hügel as Vice President and Head of Global Product Management and Services. Both report directly to the Chairman Heiner Kromer.
Opfer brings over 20 years of sales experience and practical knowledge in the SAP topic environment to the company. He gained leadership expertise at international brands such as Xerox.
"With a strong technical team and a deep understanding of SAP technology and business processes, Andreas Opfer will support our customers' data security plans in line with their digital transformation roadmap"
explains Heiner Kromer.
Opfer's appointment is accompanied by the transformation of the organizational structure. Secude combines the management of its headquarters in Lucerne with the Walldorf office to optimize EMEA operations, enable better integration and faster decision-making, and better reach new and existing customers.
The move reflects positive developments in the global market since Halocore was introduced 18 months ago. In doing so, Halocore complements user compliance initiatives related to the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by enhancing SAP's security mechanisms.
Voquz expands the management team
Voquz Group, a leading systems integrator and provider of software asset management solutions for SAP, has appointed Bernhard Busley to the Management Board.
This was announced by Helmut Fleischmann, CEO of the Voquz Group. The Board of Directors consists of Bernhard Busley, Trudbert Vetter, Petr Vaclavek and Helmut Fleischmann as Chairman of the Board.
As a member of the Executive Board, Bernhard Busley is now responsible for the Group's entire Professional Services business. This role includes sales leadership and delivery management in the project and services business.
In addition, he will remain in his previous role as Managing Director Sales of Voquz IT Solutions GmbH, responsible for sales at the Group subsidiary. For Helmut Fleischmann, the expansion of the Executive Board is the next step in optimally positioning the Group for expansion in the coming years.

Unit4: New DACH managers with SAP background
Unit4, a provider of enterprise applications for service workers, has a new management team for the DACH region.
On July 1, Jochen Wießler (l.) took over the position of Managing Director. Wießler comes from SAP, where he spent the last five years as Senior VP responsible for the midmarket and partner business.
Oliver Hoffmann (right), the new Regional Vice President Sales, also comes to Unit4 from the SAP subsidiary Concur and was previously responsible for various management positions at Lexmark and SAP, among others.Unit4 CEO Stephan Sieber:

HPE appoints new president
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has a new president in Antonio Neri. The position was newly created and also includes the HPE Next initiative, with which the company aims to generate even further growth.
Previously, Neri was executive vice president and general manager for the Enterprise Group at HPE. Prior to HP's split into the two companies - Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP. - Neri served as senior vice president and general manager in the HP Servers and HP Networking business units.
He was responsible for planning R&D, bringing innovations to market, and executing go-to-market strategies. Prior to that, he led the HP Technology Services business unit, providing support and consulting for HP Enterprise products and solutions.
Neri joined Hewlett Packard twenty-two years ago as a customer service engineer in the EMEA call center. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering Universidad Tecnológica Nacional Argentina and a degree in Art and Drawing.
Marija Gabriel succeeds Günther Oettinger, who took over as Commissioner for Financial Programming and Budget at the beginning of the year, as the new EU Digital Commissioner. The Bulgarian had been an active member of the European Parliament since 2007.
Veritas Technologies, a storage management provider, has named Mark Dentinger as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer. Dentinger previously served as vice president and CFO at InvenSense. Prior to that, he held various positions at Compaq Computer Corporation.
Georges Faddoul has been heading the business of Software AG's Swiss subsidiary since June 2017. He has many years of experience in Sales & Business Development in highly competitive, global companies and in the implementation of transformative enterprise software solutions.
Salt Solutions has elected a new Supervisory Board. Michael Fuchs will be Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Alongside him, Prof. Ulrich Müller-Steinfahrt from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and Markus Conrad occupy the other positions.
NTT Security Germany has made three new key appointments: Kai Grunwitz has taken on the role of Senior Vice President EMEA. Patrick Schraut will take on the role of Vice President Consulting Europe and Matthias Straub is now Director Consulting for Germany and Austria.
After several high-ranking managers in South Africa came under suspicion of corruption in the wake of a bribery scandal, SAP is placing the management of its African operations under new leadership. Claas Kuehnemann, who has been with the Group since 1992, becomes the new Managing Director.
