Private Cloud for Hana Workloads
The new service enables existing SAP customers to use the on-prem licenses of Hana and benefit from the advantages of a cloud in a secure and private environment. This overcomes the hurdles typically associated with on-prem hosting of business-critical SAP ERP systems. The new Hana on Private Cloud service combines Hana-certified hyperconverged infrastructure servers with VMware in the OVH cloud.

The Hana-certified servers are available in the Managed VMware -vSphere, Hyperconverged Storage and Software-Defined Datacenter versions. Both server types offer the computing power required for hosting OLTP and OLAP workloads, a high-speed network (10 Gbit/s guaranteed for public bandwidth) and local storage: dual Intel Xeon, 48 cores, 1.5 TB RAM, 11 TB local raw storage (vSAN storage) with 166,658 SAPS in compliance with OLAP and OLTP ratios. The Hana on Private Cloud packages consist of at least three servers (maximum 64 servers per cluster) and two datastores with 3 TB each for additional requirements (in addition to SAP Hana).
HCI server for Hana
The Hyperconverged Infrastructure servers enable customers to benefit from a wide range of certifications and qualifications suitable for the workloads, including C5, G-Cloud, AGID, ENS, HDS, PCI DSS as well as the prestigious SecNumCloud qualification awarded by the National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI) in France. With this unique set of certifications and qualifications, OVH provides a trusted environment for running SAP workloads.
Private Cloud Only
Hana on Private Cloud offers a range of optional SAP features, including Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) for SAP applications in Bring-Your-Own-License (BYOL) mode, Veeam Managed Backup, SAP infrastructure as code (including Terraform module), and pre-installed Hana databases via the Hana VM template, but not available in OVH's SecNumCloud-qualified VMware environment.
In addition, users can back up their databases to OVH S3 Object Storage thanks to the SAP-certified OVH Back-in-Agents for Hana. With a simple setup and built-in retention and immutability policies, the storage service is designed to defend against ransomware attacks.
