SAP overtakes Daimler, Siemens and VW
US corporations dominate the world's stock markets: six months ago, eight American companies were ranked in the top 10. Facebook and Amazon are new among the top ten companies.
The IT sector in particular plays a much greater role in the USA than in Europe: 21 IT groups are currently ranked among the 300 most expensive companies - 13 of which are headquartered in the USA.
The two IT groups based in Europe are SAP and Accenture - in 2015, six German companies made it into the top 100 of the world's most valuable companies.
SAP is in 73rd place in the new ranking, relegating Daimler, Siemens and Volkswagen to the top positions. Bayer remains the most valuable German company, according to EY.
