SAP Private Cloud à la carte
The Fujitsu Forum 2015, the company's largest annual event in Europe, took place from November 18 to 19 at the International Congress Center Munich. The theme of this year's Fujitsu Forum was "Human Centric Innovation in Action".
As part of the event, Fujitsu presented the expansion of its Managed On-premise Cloud for SAP Solutions. This enables organizations and companies to provide their employees with SAP applications in a secure private cloud environment.
Fujitsu provides all the IT hardware required to operate the SAP solutions, such as servers, storage systems and management tools. Fujitsu also takes over the complete operation of the environment, thereby relieving the customer's IT department.
All they have to do is provide the appropriate space and network connection in their data center. Fujitsu experts take care of everything else.
With Fujitsu Managed On-premise Cloud for SAP Solutions, Fujitsu is responding to the desire of many companies in Germany to operate business-critical SAP applications in their own data center.
Fujitsu's solution allows companies to take advantage of the cloud while maintaining full control over business-critical data and protecting their data center investments.
This is because they do not have to give up or downsize their own data center, but can continue to use the data center infrastructure, cooling, power supply, space and Internet connection. They can also easily meet compliance requirements such as GxP or SoX (Sarbanex-Oxley Act).
Increasing requirements
At the same time, Fujitsu Managed On-premise Cloud for SAP Solutions offers companies the option of countering growing cost pressure and increasing performance requirements.
IT departments are therefore faced with the challenge of implementing new SAP solutions and developing corresponding operating concepts despite having the same number of staff.
What's more, in the age of cloud computing, managing directors and department heads expect IT to offer dynamic delivery scenarios, consumption-based billing of IT services and service level agreements (SLAs). Given the shortage of specialists, this is almost impossible to manage.
Fujitsu Managed On-premise Cloud for SAP Solutions offers a solution: The user defines the desired SAP services, Fujitsu provides the appropriate infrastructure and its support around the clock and adjusts the capacity as required.
Companies benefit from the excellent quality of Fujitsu's services and the company's extensive experience in setting up and operating data center and cloud environments.
For example, the customer can specify certain performance values and availability data for the SAP solutions and services used. The same applies to disaster recovery measures and data backups.
Fujitsu also enables the user to expand the SAP environment as required and add new services from SAP. Fujitsu also offers highly flexible models with regard to billing for Fujitsu Managed On-premise Cloud for SAP Solutions.
Companies can book a "flat rate" or bill services on the basis of workloads. This solution adds an important component to Fujitsu's hybrid IT portfolio.
Hybrid IT is already an essential part of the planning of German CIOs and this trend will continue to grow. Hardly any company relies solely on on-premise solutions; instead, there is an emerging trend towards the implementation of a wide variety of IT services.
The Fujitsu Managed On-premise Cloud for SAP Solutions will be available in Germany from the end of February 2016.
