Shortfacts - November 2016

Migration
Dell EMC is working with Endress+Hauser to implement a future-proof environment for the measurement and automation technology specialist's business-critical SAP and non-SAP applications. By migrating from a mainframe to an open and standards-based x86 environment, the company can optimally exploit innovation potential. Endress+Hauser is a provider of measuring instruments, services and solutions for industrial process engineering. By the end of 2018, the group of companies will migrate its entire SAP environment, which is currently still operated on mainframes, to an open, standards-based x86 environment. In the open systems world, the company already uses a virtualized infrastructure based on Dell and EMC solutions; existing knowledge can be used optimally here. The technical goal of the new IT system landscape is to set up an on-premise private cloud for Hana and all other applications operated by Endress+ Hauser InfoServe, the group's IT service provider.
