Shortfacts - December 2015 / January 2016

No monthly SAP news should be disregarded. The Short Facts are dedicated to smaller news items as well as seemingly more or less important statements from the community. This is the place for SAP-specific press releases that otherwise tend to be overlooked.

Access control for ORF

Time recording for the employees of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) was initially managed as an independent system. As the ORF in Vienna uses SAP ERP for its internal organization, the company was looking for a new time recording solution with a connection to SAP.

The decision was made in favor of the German manufacturer PCS Systemtechnik from Munich. The Dexicon Enterprise software has a certified interface to SAP and uses the master data from SAP for time recording.

The current Intus 5600 time recording terminals from PCS with graphic color display and freely designable passe-partout were also convincing. The ORF used the touch surface of the terminals to design the surface with its own color preferences.

Various function keys such as "Service" and "Balance" are displayed with symbols on colored control panels.
