SAP wins EU start-up prize

The SAP start-up initiative Startup Focus has won first place in the "Europe's Corporate Startup Stars" competition organized by the EU initiative Startup Europe Partnership (SEP). The competition is sponsored by the European Commission and recognizes the best European companies for their support of start-ups. The award ceremony took place in Brussels in December. The European Commission's Startup Europe Partnership recognized 36 companies for their activities in working with start-ups and promoting open innovation. Twelve companies were classified as "Corporate Startup Stars". A further 24 were recognized as "Open Innovation Challengers". The competition is organized by Mind the Bridge, a consultancy for open innovation, with the support of the British innovation foundation Nesta. SAP Startup Focus is an integral part of the company's startup initiatives, which also include programs such as SAP.iO Foundries and SAP IoT Startup Accelerator.
