Stadtwerke Pforzheim has reached another milestone as part of a multi-stage project to renew its company-wide IT: following an extensive selection process, Stadtwerke Pforzheim signed the contract to convert key IT applications.
The contractual partner is the full-service IT provider Gisa, based in Halle/Saale, which offered an SAP-based solution. This order is for the ERP system. "With the IT realignment, we are gearing the company towards the future," says Roger Heidt, Chairman of the SWP Management Board.
"With digital and lean processes along the value chain, we can increase our efficiency, implement necessary changes sustainably and thus secure our competitiveness."
According to Heidt, an important goal is to have an efficient and meaningful control and planning tool at the end of the day. The current decision was preceded by the hardware conversion of SWP IT with servers, storage, network components and operating systems, including its own redundant data center, in 2014.
In the first step of the current conversion project, SWP created a comprehensive IT and process map and defined requirements for the IT application landscape for the coming years.
