SAP-based purchasing
The new SAP strategy in connection with the end of maintenance of SAP SRM focuses on simplified processes and fewer customer-specific solutions in procurement. A major pain point, especially for medium-sized purchasing organizations, is the lack of a complete solution for integrated procurement processes from networked supplier management to source-to-contract and procure-to-pay.
Purchasing managers should therefore start thinking about a future-proof replacement solution for SAP SRM long before an upcoming S/4 Hana migration, advises Frank Schmidt, CEO of e-procurement provider Onventis. The all-in-one procurement suite from Onventis offers powerful S/4 interfaces. Buyers can use Onventis in SAP-based purchasing to access innovative modules such as "Delivery Schedules" for production and material planning, "Quantity Contracts" for framework agreements with automatic reminders or "ERP Imports" for orders.
In addition, the completely revised Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) module was recently launched on the market. In addition to a current stock and requirements forecast based on the transmitted SAP planning data, fixed and planned receipts and issues can also be displayed. In addition, order proposals are generated for suppliers. Suppliers are automatically contacted if their stock levels fall below the reorder point.
