Database for IoT/I-4.0 projects
The "PAC Innovation Register" gives companies the opportunity to obtain detailed and structured information about best practices in their own and other industries. One trend that is emerging is the development of "smart services".
Even though there is currently a lot to read about Industry 4.0 and IoT, the development already started years ago. Accordingly, almost 400 projects have been added to the internal database so far.
Over 90 percent of the projects analyzed can be assigned to "Industry 4.0". On the one hand, this can be explained by the current research and consulting focus at PAC, but on the other hand, the topic enjoys such a high level of attention on the market that many companies have become active in this area.
In detail, around 30 percent of the projects are currently concerned with the transformation of products into smart services. This is mainly done by integrating IoT technologies into existing products and the associated expansion of the communication and functional scope of these products.
"Currently, up to 30 new case studies are added to the registry per month and we would like to continue to invite users to submit their interesting IoT/Industry 4.0 projects to us"
says PAC analyst Andreas Zilch.
Users can select the offering according to various criteria (industry, technologies used, countries, company size, etc.) and thus quickly access the case studies relevant to them. Each of these cases has been characterized by PAC on the basis of over 30 features, including project description, project volume, technologies used and service provider.
In addition, all projects and initiatives were analyzed and evaluated in detail, particularly according to "maturity level" and "relevance" - a quality feature that does not exist in this form on the market. The assessment is based on the six-stage maturity model developed by PAC, which differentiates between the data, analytics and business case layers.
