Use S/4 cleverly to access legacy data

Is there a better alternative than continuing to operate systems for years whose data is no longer used productively? PBS Software now offers a solution that meets the legal requirements:
With the PBS decommissioning extractors, all data from SAP systems is transferred directly to a nearline database. In the nearline database of the Nearline Analytic Infrastructure (NAI), the legacy data is available in such a way that it can be accessed in the new S/4 system via appropriately adapted transactions, reports or queries.
This approach is particularly suitable when complex system landscapes are consolidated. Here, cost reductions can be achieved by saving licenses and operating costs, and the nearline database can be freely selected: SAP IQ, DB2 BLU or MS SQL Server are possible variants.
