SAP data glasses in the warehouse
Using a realistic simulation with data goggles and a Bluetooth scanner, the SAP service provider Abat will demonstrate warehouse control via SAP Extended Warehouse Management and goods transport control via SAP Transportation Management - from customer order to booking in goods issue and goods delivery in an integrated scenario.
A mobile app monitors the individual transport steps and displays the current order status until delivery. Visitors have the opportunity to try this out for themselves at the stand: They can pick goods themselves on site and prepare them for dispatch.
Another major topic at the Abat stand this year is the cooperation with the PTV Group: together with PTV, Abat has developed a complete solution for integrating geodata into SAP applications, the Business Connector.
This software connects the PTV xServer to SAP systems easily and with standard functions. Abat's IT specialists also provide information on current releases and add-ons. SAP Extended Warehouse Management is integrated into SAP Supply Chain Management as an independent warehouse management solution.
With SAP Transportation Management, transportation handling processes can be supported end-to-end, from order acceptance to transportation planning and execution. Abat is a ramp-up partner for SAP Transportation Management.
Nevertheless, there are still critical authorizations or combinations of authorizations and evaluation tools, as well as corresponding books. However, as long as Hana is "only" used to store data for an Abap stack, there are only a few system users in the database and checking Hana security is no more complex than checking a conventional database such as Oracle or MaxDB.
