Coop Launches Digitalization Initiative

One of the largest SAP transformation projects in Scandinavia is currently underway at Coop in Denmark. With a completely new retail platform based on SAP S/4 HANA, Coop Denmark is transforming its business processes and modernizing its IT systems.

The consulting firm KPS is the partner responsible for the transformation of processes and IT implementation. With its new IT solution, Coop aims to fully leverage the benefits of digitalization: It is intended to help the company better meet customer needs and, in particular, improve its procurement, logistics, and marketing processes.

The new solution will go live in 2019 and be fully implemented by 2020. The new SAP platform ensures efficient, real-time data exchange between more than 1,100 stores, the distribution centers, and Coop’s headquarters in Albertslund, Denmark. This optimizes the supply chain as well as collaboration between branches, suppliers, and logistics partners.
