SAP-Lösung: MES

MES, Manufacturing Execution System, is a collective term for the direct automation of manufacturing. MES is also referred to as production control system and is used for production planning. Related terms are CIM, Industry 4.0 and IIoT.

There is still a lot of potential for digital process support. The company Deutz in Cologne, Germany, uses a mobile and lean application to drastically simplify and speed up processes.
The connection of heterogeneous machines and the semantic processing of data are essential prerequisites for the successful operation of both ERP and MES solutions such as SAP Digital Manufacturing.
The SAP user group DSAG has achieved that SAP extends the maintenance for the manufacturing solutions Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (MII) until the end of 2030.
Syntax Make it Real
SAP offers a comprehensive solution portfolio for digital manufacturing with the Digital Manufacturing Cloud at its core. To be able to view all production data centrally and control the associated processes accordingly, companies should also use a central IIoT solution such as Synsights.
Industry 4.0
Fast, cost-effective entry into digital manufacturing and complete traceability are business-critical for medium-sized manufacturers. A lean MES with UX design that users can configure themselves makes this possible.

SAP Manufacturing Execution (production control system) is gaining momentum and popularity.
MES as an enabler
Since 1981, SAP user Stihl has been producing the orange glowing lawn mowers and mowing robots on currently 23 assembly lines. To ensure the company's success, it relies, among other things, on digitalization measures in the production area and places its full trust in Cronetwork MES.
Work on SAP Basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion. This gives the so-called Competence Center strategic importance among SAP's existing customers. Regardless of the operating model of an S/4 Hana, topics such as automation, monitoring, security, application lifecycle management, and data management are the basis for the operative S/4 operation. For the second time already, E3 Magazine is hosting a summit in Salzburg for the SAP community to get comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
